Klondike Derby
BSA has been holding Klondike Derbies since 1949. The Klondike Derby is an event where Patrols compete against each other, traveling from station to station, showcasing their Scoutcraft skills and teamwork. It is based on the heritage of the Klondike Gold Rush of 1896.
The goal is to get together and test our winter Scoutcraft skills. Each Troop/Patrol should have a sled to carry their gear. The event descriptions, rules and scoring will be available in the Leader Guide before the Klondike Derby. The Scout Handbook should be the Patrol’s guide. Studying it and applying it to the competition challenges will be the best way to prepare.
Spring Camporee
The MSC Spring 2026 Scottish Highland Games Camporee brings Scouts together for a weekend of friendly competition, teamwork, and Scoutcraft at Lost Lake. Patrols compete as clans in a series of Highland-inspired challenges that test strength, skill, leadership, and spirit. From caber tosses to Scout skills, this camporee blends tradition, adventure, and fun in a truly memorable experience.
Beaver Day
Beaver Day is an important time each year at Lost Lake Scout Camp to help prepare them for the summer and make sure they are in great shape. This can't be done without lots of hands. Older Scouts, Scouters, and Parents are invited to participate in Beaver Day events. Scouters with skills in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or other trades are especially encouraged to attend.
